Rob and I have had another exceptional day with all the pastors at the conference. Rob has taken the men through SHAPE which was both personally helpful for them as well as extremely equiping for them to take back to their churches with notes he has provided. I have been sharing the 10 greatest lessons I have learned in the past 12 months.
It has been very encouraging interacting with the men over breaks and meals. Their follow-up questions have shown keen insight and I have shared several of them with the rest of the group.
We also did a panel discussion that was fast paced and really kept us on our toes!
One of our most entertaining topics took off when I brought up the matter of addressing the 'elephant in the room.' Now, they all knew what an elephant was and most had seen one. They had never heard of one being in the room with you! After I explained what the phrase meant, they continued bringing up the elephants that needed to be addressed in their lives and churches.
It is so cool to watch these leaders immediately begin to process the things we are sharing and consider the application in their lives. It reminds me of teaching at Fox River!
I also was told dozens of times what a great help the resource (book) was to them last year, how grateful they were for it, how they were continuing to use it and how they were sharing it with others.
Needless to say I am sooooo looking forward to giving out the new ones tomorrow and sharing your love for them. Every time I look at the back wall mural of the church I think about you. I will do my best to upload a picture to put a visual to that thought.
THANKS AGAIN for your gift of love and help to these wonderful servants of Jesus!
Pastor Guy
